How do Nyne and Your Data Value differ?

They do different jobs. Nyne is a buyer: it licenses anonymized records from your accounting, CRM, scheduling and project tools, prepares the data on its side and delivers it to frontier AI labs (Nyne program page, October 2026). Your Data Value is a broker. It does not buy or hold records. It prepares a company profile, submits it to more than one matching buyer, and helps you compare offers; you then sign directly with the buyer and deliver from your own systems (Your Data Value homepage, October 2026).

Nyne names specific tools, such as QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot, Asana and Jira. Your Data Value lists record types, such as SOPs, wikis, tickets and finance workflows, since the buyer decides what it takes.

How is the price set?

Nyne starts with a 15-minute scoping call that maps your systems and what the data could be worth, then agrees scope, rights and acceptance criteria. Its distinctive term is a price match: it says it will beat a qualifying written offer for the same data, rights, payment conditions and work, though calculator estimates and "up to" amounts do not qualify and no fixed uplift is promised (Nyne offer qualification terms, October 2026).

Your Data Value does not estimate payouts before review; each buyer proposes its own price. It sets a $200K minimum deal size. The example deals and size table on its site come from public filings, press and another advisory firm's published outcomes, and the site says none are its clients. See AI data partnership programs for buyers you can approach directly.

When do you get paid, and what does it cost?

Nyne pays once the dataset is delivered and accepted, under the partnership agreement. It does not publish timing or fees. Your Data Value has the buyer pay you as delivery milestones are met, then takes a percentage of what you receive. It charges no upfront fee or retainer, and if no deal closes you owe nothing. Its terms say it may also receive compensation from buyers for introductions.

Nyne does not publish exclusivity or license length; its own comparison page lists both as terms to check. With Your Data Value, those terms come from whichever buyer you sign with.

Which one suits your company?

Nyne suits US operating businesses with 20 or more W-2 employees and three or more years of history, and owners who already hold an offer and want a competing bid. Your Data Value suits companies with 30 or more employees and documented workflows that would rather not apply to each buyer alone. It says buyers accept direct applications, so weigh its percentage against applying yourself.

What should you ask both?

  • Nyne: what are the exclusivity, license length and any deductions, in writing?
  • Your Data Value: what percentage do you take, and do you also get paid by the buyer?
  • Your Data Value: which deals have you run yourself?
  • Both: when exactly is payment made after acceptance?
